Edward C. Appelman, O.D. Dr. Appelman grew up in St. Louis and received his degree from Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska in 1981. He graduated in 1985 from the University of Missouri with a Doctor of Optometry degree on the Deanï's List with honors and is a member of the St. Louis Optometric Society, the Missouri Optometric Society, and the American Optometric Association.
He prides himself on providing a very thorough eye evaluation and educating patients on their vision condition. He enjoys managing and preventing all types of vision conditions including dry eyes, ocular allergies, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.
Dr. Appelman also provides low vision services for the visually impaired, co-manages patients who are interested in laser vision correction, and excels in the prescribing of many types of specialty contact lenses. He has been serving St. Charles County since 1986 when he opened his first office on Mid Rivers Mall Drive.
Outside the office he enjoys running, the outdoors, and following St. Louis professional sports teams. |

Amy Mackey Carenza, OD Dr. Carenza grew up in a small town in Alabama. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry, where she completed several clinical rotations focused on contact lenses, pediatrics, and ocular disease.
Dr. Carenza is a member of the AOA (American Optometric Association), the MOA (Missouri Optometric Association), and the AAO (American Academy of Optometry).
Amy was also honored with admittance to the National Optometric Gold Key Society, which is granted to individuals who exhibit leadership and service throughout optometry school. Dr. Carenza
loves the St. Peters area and assisting our patients with all of their eye care needs. |
